President signs bill delaying switch, now it's the law
President Obama signed H.R. 4302 into law on April 1. Thus the switch to ICD-10 is officially delayed to October 1, 2015.

If the United States is going to change the system it uses for the coding of diagnoses, it ought to implement a state-of-the art diagnosis coding system. It should not waste resources on ICD-10-CM and its archaic structure, which cannot support a modern health information infrastructure.
